Painted Space Marines

Here is a completed family photo of my Space Marines (or Adeptus Astartes as they’re now called) for Warhammer 40,000. It’s not a particularly tightly designed force, nor is it really very effective on the tabletop, but rather a mish-mash of stuff that I liked and wanted to paint. In the end I didn’t particularly find Space Marines much fun on the tabletop so I suppose that this project is shelved for now; however I might easily be tempted back by the fun of painting.

  1. They look great mate – fluffy lists are way more fun than effective ones šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘

    • Cheers! You’re right there, I do love a themed list.

    • I have to agree on the fluffy being moe fun to work on, it’s how I made my armies when I play 40K way back in the 3-5 additions!

      • I think it’s probably the only realistic approach considering how often I actually get round to playing. The balance is 40K generally seems pretty poor and is anyway extremely volatile so it would be an endless task to try to make an effective ‘on meta’ army.

  2. Its nice to see a group shot of these and I agree with the sentiments above. If you found it fun to paint then don’t worry about their effectiveness. Your future manager says, save the serious lists for MCP! You’ve got a pro career to think about! šŸ˜‰

  3. Hurrah! Love a group army shot šŸ˜
